I like to explore the relationships between archetypes and the symbols we associate with various vices, virtues and identities. Such as – the wise owl, the old wise woman, searching for answers and seeking wisdom in the stars, and looking for illumination in darkness. Darkness is also interesting in how it often reverses our expectations; things that are clear during the day may feel less certain at night. Night-blooming flowers, like the Queen of the Night, play on the assumption of what kind of light plants need to survive.
